1. Q. How can we sell so cheap?

A. Our personnel search the country looking for exceptional deals at furniture liquidations, overstocks or bankruptcy settlements, auctions and other sources to facilitate the purchase of mattresses for pennies on the dollar. We then couple that with low overhead and efficient sales techniques to bring you mattress at well below wholesale prices. We have established relationships with manufacturers and other mattress sources to ensure the acquisition of the highest quality mattresses available. We are the only mattress company that has develop a streamline process to locate the highest quality mattress at discounted prices. This is our specialty. We then pass the saving on to you. It's not uncommon for us to sell a $2000 mattress for $400. That's 75% off!

2. Q. What type of mattresses do you sell?

A. Due to customers’ frequent request and demand, we now sell many different types. We sell “as is” (overstock, factory seconds, store demos, cosmetic blemished) and now refurbished. Each type is clearly labeled to ensure you know exactly what you are buying.

3. Q. Can I try a mattress out?

A. Yes! We will let you lie on the bed to make sure you feel comfortable and that it is the best bed for you.

4. Q. Is my mattress returnable in case I don't like it?

A. At these prices, we have to insist on a no refund policy. We advise local customers to come and select the mattress of your choice. If you do find that once you get the mattress home and you have problems sleeping on it because of firmness, we will accept an exchange within 24 hours of your purchase. You will be responsible to return the mattress or pay for delivery/shipping in the original condition you received the mattress. A standard restocking fee of $100 will also be assessed.

5. Q. Do the mattresses carry the manufacturer's warranty?

A. We are not an authorized retail dealer so the answer is no. Only dealers can offer warranties. Mattresses generally carry a pro-rated warranty. This means that if one uses say, 50% of their mattress life before the mattress fails, they receive a voucher for 50% off their next purchase and so on...

Let's put this in perspective....

You walk back into the retailer and plop down another $1500 on a "$3000 retail" mattress and you're whistling your way, content, out the store...right? Let's do the math... We sell those "$3000 mattresses" for say $500 in the first place...So for that $4500 you spent at the retailer, we would have given you nine mattresses in the first place. Enough mattresses for three lifetimes.

6. Q. Are your prices negotiable?

A. No, we sell our mattresses at rock bottom prices. We tell people "tell a friend" about us and come buy together and we'll give you a discount for multiple purchases.

We do frequently have specials and package deals that we will advertise on our site. We do give discounts for quantity purchases.

If you are a business such as a hotel or require a large quantity of mattresses, please contact us for our special 'business' quantity discounts.

7. Q. Do you deliver?

A. Absolutely! Our delivery rates are very fair and we will do our best to get your mattress to you within an hour of your purchase, not the customary two weeks from the other guys. You can also pick up your purchase at 3 convenient locations in the Bay Area.

8. Q. What makes you different than a mattress discount store?

A. Great question! Most mattress discount stores carry low to mid level quality of a brand name mattress. In essence, they decide the type of mattress you should have.

We are able to locate high quality mattresses from different sources so we can provide you a wide range of mattresses. Our company gives you the opportunity to own a mattress that can cost over $4000 for 75% off.

In addition, discount stores will have a few floor models. Once you decide which mattress you want, they will pull one from their stock. You don't get the exact mattress you saw. There's always a chance you could get a different mattress.

We are able to show you the exact mattress you will be purchasing. You will either take it with you or we'll deliver within an hour of your purchase. No chance of getting the wrong mattress or the classic 'switch and bait' practice that many customers have complained about with discount mattress stores.

8. Q. How do I buy a mattress from you?

A. Simple! You dial 510-986-0300 (East Bay) or 415-934-9300 (San Francisco/Peninsula), tell us what you want. If I have it, we meet at one of our convenient locations closest to you. Locations are in San Francisco and Oakland.

Be ready to buy. We are able to give you these incredible deals by streamlining the mattress buying process. We pull out the mattress you want, you try it and then we complete the transaction. This saves you time and ultimately money. We ask you are prepared for purchase and/or to leave a deposit to hold your mattress at your first visit. We are not able to guarantee we will have the same mattress you have selected without a deposit put down.

We have 3 locations for you to purchase and pick up your mattress for your convenience. Two locations in Oakland and one in San Francisco.

9. Q. What does it truly feel like to sleep on a $2800 dollar mattress?

A. I must admit, I never truly appreciated the difference in mattresses until I started this company. I used to buy mattresses second hand or got mattresses from friends that happened to be throwing one away. Now I sleep on a CA King top of the line luxury mattress. Of all the mattresses I tried, this is the one that fit me the best being feathery soft, yet firm. It is truly like sleeping on a cloud. I have never been so comfortable in my life and on top of that, I actually slept about an hour and a half longer uninterrupted than with my old mattress. I would have sold this mattress to anyone for say $575. It would have sold retail complete for about $3000 a mattress last year. For a $575 investment for an environment where you spend a third of your life....I can't stress what a bargain, investment and find you have made in stumbling across "Dirt Cheap Mattress".
